I retouch high school senior portraits. How do I change background colors without losing the wispy/thin part of the hairdo? Thanks.
Background replacement always starts with an accurate selection. Photoshops selection tools are some of the best on the market. However, large volume work like this may require industrial-strength selection software. By taking the original picture using an evenly-lit green (or blue) screen, the background can be selected and replaced quickly and efficiently. Check out... Ultimatte's Advantedge, or Corel's Knockout 2 , or Vertus' Fluid Mask.
