The other day a reader posed a curious question (at least to me) She had been given the task of creating a Photoshop document that measured 125p x 165p. Her question : what does the “p” stand for? I replied with a vote for pixels. Acccording to Pariah Burke, the owner of The Design Weblog, the "p" stands for pica, a unit of type measurement typically relegated to the page layout world. Graphic designers using programs such as Quark to layout type and graphics should be familiar with this term. For those of you who want to know more about the pica, visit, Pariah's blog and learn more. I stand corrected. Thanks Pariah. For the record, "px" is the abbreviation for pixels.
