A couple of posts ago, I helped a fellow Photoshop user make a selection that combined two rounded corners and two square corners. It occurred to me that there is an even easier way to do it using ImageReady. Imageready, the companion program to PS, actually has a rounded rectangular marquee selection tool that can be used to accomplish half the task.
Open a Photoshop document.
Click the Jump to ImageReady button at the bottom of the toolbox.
The document opens in IR.
Set up four guides that represent the size of the selection you need.
Choose View > Snap To > Guides
Select the Rounded Rectangular Marquee tool.
Click and drag following the guides, to create a rounded rectangular selection.
Select the Marquee tool.
Select the Add to Selection option.
Click and drag a new selection across the bottom half of the first selection.
The custom selection is made.
